You want to work a section at a time, because once you apply the mousse it begins to work immediately. Start massaging in, spreading it evenly, then add the next section and the next. Keep massaging it all over your skin as you count to 60, slowly. Then rinse off.
You'll need to clean your bathtub or shower if you use this often, since it doesn't rinse off the sides too well.
But it smells GREAT and the tan is really pretty and looks natural. On my face, it show the pores too much, so I use a face tanner for that area. But for the body, ooh la la! Worth the money.
